Inroads#1:BruceCounty

August 16th - 23rd, 2009

From August 16th through 23rd, 2009, a troupe of emerging artists from Toronto will explore the wonders of Bruce County as part of an event called Inroads Festival.  In hopes of connecting deeply with the landscape, its people, and their stories, these young musicians and songwriters will join with community members in the creation of original works centred on emblematic aspects of each town visited.  Each stop on this festival tour will feature a story-sharing and song-writing session, as well as a concert; the finale of which will be a performance of a new song written earlier that day.

This inaugural edition of Inroads Festival will feature Kite Hill (Ryan Carley, Anissa Hart, Steve Lappano, Mika Posen), The Youngest (Amy Learmonth), Les Arbres (Tim Fagan), Casey Mecija, as well as special guests.  These musical friends and community builders will visit seven locales in eight days, resting, visiting, writing, and playing daylong in Colpoy's Bay, Sauble Beach, Wiarton, Oliphant, Southampton, the Saugeen First Nation, and the Bruce Peninsula National Park.  Writing sessions and concerts will be held in community halls, nursing homes, campgrounds, beaches, and amphitheatres, with the bulk of proceeds going towards the maintenance of those spaces.

Be a part of the inaugural edition of Inroads Festival!  Everyone is welcome, every step of the way.

The following are the main details of each scheduled events at each stop.
